We are proud to present to you our branch in Edinburgh and our first venture into the capital. On 1st of August 2013 we acquired the long established and dated Croileagan nursery in Corstorphine, and following a six figure upgrade of facility and staff training we brought this facility under our brand.

Now at Wee Gems Corstorphine we offer an exceptional environment based on our over ten years of childcare experience and our strong and highly qualified management team.

For our children under one we have a beautiful cosy room on the upper level of the building. This room is has a homely atmosphere that allows our smallest babies to settle into nursery in calm but stimulating environment. Children have the freedom to explore Heuristic play using the Treasure Baskets that are filled with exciting natural products that encourage our youngest children discover and learn about their world through sensory motor development. This room also has a dedicated nappy room with individual boxes for children’s personal equipment. The maximum number of children in this room is 6 which give this environment a very tranquil feel and that allows us to promote early childhood development

Edinburgh 1-2’s

On the ground floor we have our 1-2’s room this consists of a calm sleep room, a play room and a messy play/dining room. Once children are actively moving around and are up on their two feet this room has the resources to challenge and support children’s growth and development. These rooms have a dedicated changing area where children have individual boxes contain their nappies wipes and any creams they require. This room is bright and airy with stimulating colours and equipment to suit the specific age. This rooms’ benefits from anti-bacterial carpets and none slip flooring as well as CCTV.

Tweenies Room

Pre-School Rooms

We have dedicated two linked rooms to our pre-school; again one side to accommodate the messy activities fitted with non-slip flooring and the other side carpeted area to accommodate role play and many other stimulating activities in line with the curriculum for excellence. We are in partnership with Edinburgh council and funding is available subject to availability of spaces; our pre-school is overseen by the Edinburgh council’s early years officers and we offer an exceptional learning and fun environment.

Outdoor Area

The children will be outside on a daily basis with the pre-school children having free access through-out the day to the garden area, this ensures the children are having fresh air and exercise to keep them active and healthy. Our fantastic outdoor area boasts a large Canadian play system, were the children can jump, climb and slide; this area is supported by Astroturf with fall safe height of 6 metres; along with the new timber play system. The garden consists of lots of equipment to suit the age and stage of children using it. This includes bikes, trikes, scooters, balls and much more physical equipment. We ensure our children are active learners outside, using our garden as an extra classroom. All areas of the curriculum will be followed within the garden and outdoor area including – literacy, numeracy, health and well-being and science. We also have dedicated baby and tweenies gardens; all areas are fitted with safety flooring.

We have the longest opening hours and we offer an all-inclusive service; which means we offer a better deal than our competitors. We try to accommodate each individual child in order to meet their parent’s timetable. A 5% sibling discount will be available to the oldest child’s fees. We offer free settling sessions.
